DICOM experience since 1997

Sup-C is the independent software business of Patrick Cleys, a software developer who has been working with DICOM and radiology software since 1997.

The first DICOM work started with integrating and digitizing ultrasound equipment and connecting imaging systems in practical radiology environments. That work quickly expanded into DICOM communication, routing and interoperability between modalities, workstations, archives and other hospital systems.

Since then, the focus has remained practical: understand how imaging data must move through the clinical environment and build software that solves the integration problem without unnecessary complexity.

From integration work to Sup-C products

Years of DICOM integration and custom development led to a range of dedicated Sup-C products. Today these include DCMburner for DICOM media publishing, DCMprinter for DICOM Print, DCMrouter for automated routing, DCMimport for external-study import and reconciliation, and DCMworklist for Modality Worklist integration.

DCMburner has been developed as a Sup-C product since 2010, building on earlier experience with automated DICOM CD/DVD publishing systems. The other products grew from the same type of real-world requirements: moving, printing, importing and reconciling medical images reliably between systems from different vendors.

Built from real radiology workflows

Sup-C software is shaped by requirements encountered in hospitals, imaging centres and integration projects. DICOM interoperability is rarely just a matter of implementing a protocol: modalities, PACS, RIS, worklists, printers and third-party systems all have their own behaviour and operational constraints.

The objective is therefore straightforward: software should be dependable, understandable to the people who have to configure and support it, and practical in day-to-day radiology workflows.

Independent development and direct support

Sup-C is a small independent software business. Product development and technical support are handled directly by the developer. Customers, resellers and equipment suppliers can therefore discuss DICOM behaviour and integration problems without an intermediate generic helpdesk.

This is particularly useful when troubleshooting interoperability issues, integrating older or unusual equipment, or adapting a workflow to customer-specific requirements.

Custom development

In addition to the standard Sup-C products, custom software and integration work can be discussed for radiology and medical-imaging applications, including DICOM communication, PACS and modality integration, routing, media workflows, patient-data reconciliation and worklist connectivity.
