DCMworklist 2.1 – (DICOM Modality Worklist) automatically transmits information from a HIS/RIS to any number of modalities. Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS solutions) provide the patient demographic information and exam planning information. These data are needed during the imaging phase when acquiring the modality, as digital recording equipment needs to know all relevant patient information in order to store it in the digital images. Instead of asking the technician to manually re-enter the patient’s demographic data. The DICOM worklist ensures that the modality sends the information, stored in the HIS/RIS directly to the modality via an automated and reliable transmission. This is done in a standardized manner supported by almost all manufacturers of digital DICOM modalities.
